The A.B Uzzle Water Treatment Facility was originally constructed in 1968 as a 4 million gallon per day Water Treatment Facility.
The City's Water Treatment Facility employs 4 shift operators, 1 maintenance technican, 1 relief operator, 1 lab technician, and the plant superintendent.
The Water Plant underwent a major upgrade in 1990 to increase the treatment capability to 8 million gallon per day. The facility has since received several smaller improvements, which include the addition of a 3 million gallon storage facility along with the ability to feed chloramines for disinfection. The plant has also replaced the old chlorine gas feed system with a much safer sodium hypochlorite feed system. A standby generator was also added at the plant and the raw water pump station to ensure a constant power supply during periods of power outage.
The plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to insure the citizens of Dunn and surrounding areas an ample supply of quality drinking water.
