Remnants of Strawberry Blonde
Deborah Kravitz Miller will read from her book Remnants of Strawberry Blonde at Dunn Public Library Tuesday October 22 at 7:00 pm. The book is a collection of poems and vignettes which highlight the importance of family, friends, and even strangers in one’s life.
Mrs. Miller’s poems are an appreciation of relationships and endorsement of living a life of gratitude for them. In her writing she traces the influence of others beginning in childhood throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Miller is an alumna of Campbell University where she met her husband Jerry. She served as Executive Director of Wake Enterprises, Inc. from 1981 to 1995. This is an organization whose mission is to assist persons with disabilities to achieve their maximum independence possible.
“Mrs. Miller gleans poignant and purposeful lessons from everyday life which are reflected in her poetry,” said Dunn Library Director Mike Williams. “I think those who hear her will reconnect with thoughts and feelings they have experienced too.”
