The City of Dunn Fire Department proudly protects 16,000 people living in an area of 37.17 square miles. We operate out of two stations that protect a response area that runs from industrial to rural. Station One is located at 102 N. Powell Ave., and Station Two is located at 110 E. Harnett St. Our department is a public department whose membership is combination, part paid and part volunteer. We have an ISO Rating of 5.
Our Department was organized in 1895. We are one of the few departments which are strictly fire, we are fortunate to have a Rescue Squad which has 7/24 paramedic coverage which eliminates the need for us to run EMS calls. We have 25 volunteers and five paid. The Fire Chief works Monday through Friday 8-5 while the others work 10 hour days. Our Department host the County Trench Rescue Team, which is made up from countywide participation. We are a City Department which also serves a District in the County. We have 31.1 square miles in the District and 6.06 square miles in the City. During the past twelve months we answered 624 calls for service and we logged 5,323 hours in training and 5,757.51 hours on the fire ground.
