Dunn Hires New Finance Director

Newly hired City of Dunn Finance Director Jim Roberts is originally from Mars Hill, North Carolina and holds a bachelorís degree in business management from North Carolina State University and a masterís degree in public affairs from Western Carolina University.

Roberts has served various Colleges and Universities in numerous capacities before joining the Campbell University staff in 1995 as the Director of Facilities and Maintenance. In 2005, Roberts was promoted to Vice President for Business and Treasurer for the University, where he also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine and Treasurer for the Campbell University Foundation.

Professionally, Roberts has served on several boards and committees including the Triangle South Workforce Board, the National Association of College and University Business Officers Committee, and he is currently Chairman of the NC Education Assistance Authority. Roberts has received many accolades including the Meritorious Service Award from the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers, and the Triangle Business Journal awarded him the CFO of the year for large nonprofit organizations.

Roberts is the proud husband of Teresa, a father of four, and a grandfather of five. He is heavily involved with his church and is also the former President of the Buies Creek Kiwanis Club. Being a longtime Harnett County resident, Roberts looks to use his knowledge of the area, his professional relationships and many years of financial experience to bring expert insight to the City of Dunn.
