Dunn: All-American City 1989-2013

Community Revitalization Program Groundbreaking

On Thursday, May 23, 2019, the City of Dunn will kick off its combined efforts with the Dunn Community Development Corporation to rehabilitate 18 homes around the Dunn Enrichment Center. This groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on the lawn in front of the Dunn Enrichment Center campus, 610 E. Johnson Street.

Residents in this area of Dunn were able to apply to have their homes rehabilitated thanks to a $574,000 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant specified for Neighborhood Revitalization (CDBG-NR) administered by the Rural Economic Development Division, of the North Carolina Department of Commerce. The City and the DCDC will go out for bid on contractors to begin this work later this summer.

Please join us at 10 a.m. on May 23 to celebrate this opportunity for members of our community. The groundbreaking ceremony will include messages from Mayor Oscar Harris, Council Member Dr. Gwen McNeill, Project Administrator Skip Green, and others.
