Police Department  City of Dunn Police Officer I(Reserve Unit)[ List All
Duties of a Police Officer I to include: Community Policing, investigation and patrol duties. The Police Reserve Unit is comprised of officers that aid and assist the full-time personnel in the performance of their lawful duties. Reserve Officers are non-paid, sworn law enforcement officers, with all powers of arrest and hold a current certification by the North Carolina Department of Justice, Training and Standards.

  • Minimum Requirements
    Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, a US Citizen and possess a valid NC Drivers License; must have good moral character, no felony or Class B Misdemeanor convictions. Education: Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and the completion of a 2 year degree in Criminal Justice, supplemented by basic courses in police science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicant must possess a valid North Carolina Law Enforcement Certificate.

  • Special Requirements
    Previous law enforcement experience preferred. Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug screening, physical and background investigation. We encourage minority candidates to apply.
